Moon River Organic Farm began with a simple but powerful dream: to live close to the land, grow nourishing food, and share it with our community. Starting out on leased farmland in New Jersey, we are building this farm from the ground up with a commitment to organic and regenerative practices that will last for generations.
I grew up in Sussex County, NJ, where I learned the meaning of hard work through landscaping, sports, and farming. After studying at Penn State and working on their farm, I felt the pull back to the land and the call to create something lasting — a farm rooted in stewardship, resilience, and community.
Moon River Organic Farm is still young, but the vision is big: vibrant fields of vegetables and flowers, animals roaming freely, healthy soil teeming with life, and a place where people can connect to food and farming in a meaningful way. Every season is a new chapter, and every day is an opportunity to learn and grow alongside the land.
I invite you to be part of this journey from the very beginning — helping me cultivate not just crops, but a way of life.
The Meaning of Moon River
Our farm’s name, Moon River, carries two meanings close to our hearts. First, it reflects the steady rhythm of nature — just as the river flows and the moon cycles, farming is a continuous dance of seasons, growth, rest, and renewal. Second, it reminds us that farming is more than a job — it’s a way of life that shapes our time, values, and relationships every single day.
The moon has long symbolized cycles and balance, while rivers represent movement, nourishment, and connection. Together, they capture what we hope to create here: a farm that flows with the seasons, nurtures healthy soil, and feeds our community with integrity.
Moon River Organic Farm is still young, but it’s rooted in a vision that will span generations. As we build out our fields, greenhouses, and CSA program, we are guided by the belief that good food begins with good soil, and that the land, when cared for, always gives back.
Our dream is simple: to create a thriving farm that reflects the beauty of natural cycles — a place where healthy food, healthy soil, and healthy community flow together like a river under the moonlight.
